The title was inspired by the lyrics of an Eric Clapton song playing in the studio while I created this piece for my Summer Love exhibition in 2022. The magic blues and hints of greens are like a vision of a world of flowers from beneath the surface of the ocean. The paint is laid on in water-soaked washes, complemented with swirls of dynamic balls of colour, pierced with jabs and scratches. Let it Rain Down on Me is a impassioned mass of squiggles and disjointed calligraphy. The result of which I can best describe as a poetic process of repeated layering, erasure, and relentless questioning from which I applied myself to the difficult task of finding the answers. When I show up for love, love gives it back:)

Further inspiration for this work is informed by in-depth knowledge and intimate study of art history. I continue to explore the action paintings of Jackson Pollock and the child-like wonder and love of flowers of Vincent van Gogh and Cy Twombly and the rich joyful content of their work.
