This bespoke piece was commissioned by a Christchurch couple to adorn the large white walls of their newly refurbished Bay of Islands holiday home. The brief was to create a truly original and totally sensual beeswax artwork that evoked beauty—and above all, oozed vitality and joy.

Beautifully layered with sensuously sultry glazes of New Zealand beeswax it celebrates the sense of wonder this gorgeous couple have for each other and life in general. They in turn chose the name for their artwork, after saying, “It’s a piece of wonder.”

A year ago they were the first visitors to my popup gallery, Art@rangitane. They purchased three small paintings. This year they returned and commissioned this work for their Bay of Islands holiday home.
