Acrylic and mixed media on canvas with playful fun

One of the first paintings I ever sold was when I created and opened my own gallery during COVID in Feb 2021. Three generations from one family were the first to come. I was so happy.  They felt happy, too and purchased three paintings.

They were visiting from Christchurch, and the father purchased this for his daughter, who had told him how much she loved it. He waited until she was seated back in their car, and came back to buy it as a surprise gift.

I had been so anxious about opening my tiny gallery…wondering, “who will come?” “How will they find me?” ‘Will people like what I paint?” It was confirmation that when you love what you do, others show up for love, too—assuming they have the freedom to travel!

The painting is a tiny painting inspired by our big view over the Bay of Islands, where my gallery is.

The water, clouds, hills and sky are a constant source of inspiration for me. Ever-changing and always so healing. THE FINISH
The painting has been created on artist quality 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat of UV-resistant varnish, protecting the longevity and enhancing the vibrancy of the colours.
