“New Beginnings”. Inspired by spring here in New Zealand, it’s the season to throw caution to the wind and experiment with pops of vibrant colour and abstract expressionism painting infused with joy. Drawing inspiration from Cy Twombly, Georgia O’Keefe, Helen Frankenthaler, Paul Gaugin, and my all-time favourite colourist—Pierre Bonnard– it’s time to up the passion, experiment and have some fun.
Gone are the pale, restful shades of my Covid-inspired Soften series, “new beginnings” ups the ante with pops of spontaneous painterly colours to brighten and beautify.
Spoiled for choice when it comes to the hues we can play with, “new beginnings” is inspired by nature and fresh spring growth. Think lime greens, jubilant jungle joy, yummy yellow freesias, peony pinks carousing coral-reds, and more.
“Love these! So happy and free.”
“Love the spontaneous joy.”
“Love these new works. Speaks to my soul in a major way.”
